THE BAG!! Oh how I love it! And Pattern Testers Wanted!

I'm super excited to share with you all my latest love, my pride and joy - This BAG! I love it so much so if it wasn't for my beloved possibly questioning my sanity if I did, I'd totally sleep with it ;)

It doesn't have a name yet so all suggestions are much welcome =)

This BAG is just pure love for me! It's the perfect size, the prefect style and super practical with all its interior pockets! I'll be honest with you, it was a truly a challenge to figure out how to make it exactly as I wanted it, a lot of things I'd never done before (like a central divider pocket) had to be tried and tested, done and redone before I had it, but here it is!

I had to take it for a walk right away so it got to go with me on an adventure to Marsaxlokk right away, and Erik just snapped a photo in the moment, more serious ones will come =)

This one is sewn with waxed tablecloth and quilting cotton. It has two interior zippered pockets, one big divider one and one small for keys and such. It also has open pockets for phone and lipgloss =)

Please pardon the bulky look of the lining, I'm not happy with my choice of interfacing, this will be changed. And so will a few little details in the interior for the final version.

Isn't she so pretty though? <3

Pattern Testers Wanted!

Would you like to test sew this pattern for me, make sure it contains no inaccuracies, let me know if anything is unclear or hard to understand? This will not be a beginners pattern (however it will have a ton of step by step photos so it shouldn't be difficult) so if you have at least some experience sewing bags, that would be best. I would like a few testers for both the English version and the Swedish version. If you agree to test the pattern, I would like to ask you that you have time to make and photograph the bag within the next two weeks after you get the pattern.

The pattern should hopefully be finished for testing in a week from now or so. As soon as it's finished, I'll email it to you so if you're interested in testing the pattern, please email me at maria@pinkponydesign.com with a short description of your sewing experience or link to your blog or photo sharing site if you have one (or just attach a photo of a bag you've sewn in the email).

All pattern testers will of course get the finished pattern for free as well as both of my other patterns as a thank you. <3

Stash Update!

I couldn't help myself when I was in my mothers store last time and I had to bring home some new fabric of course =) I will have to add another Benno pillar from Ikea tobe able to fit my ever growing stash soon! Happiness!

A lovely fat quarter bundle of the Cats collection from Makeover UK had to come home with me of course! Just look at the little kitties and mice! <3

As I used up a bit of my basic beiges in my Circles of Times table runner I had to stock up a little, and I seriously couldn't possibly say no to the lovely sewing fabric! LOOK at those scissors!

I'm also very excited to share two beautiful Bring the Basic Bags made by the talented Sulan and Annelie, lovely work ladies! The photo is borrowed from Anki =)

Keep Your Sunglasses Safe - Raccoon Case! Free Pattern!

I've been wanting to make this pattern for a while, I wanted a soft case for my sunglasses that was easy to open all the way, so they where quick to get out when I needed them and easy to put back. This seemed like the best design for it =)

The reason I wanted a soft case was because I don't want it to take up a lot of room in my bag when not in use. And the Raccoon Case was born!

The exterior fabric is from Tula Pinks lovely Acacia line, and the case got its name from the adorable Raccoon print =)

It opens up all the way.

And it's ever so handy! I just love it!

A Small Competition Resulting in Tiny Bags

These little bags came to be in a very inofficial, good natured competition betweeen me and my very good friend Anki at quilt camp this summer. She had made a set of teeny tiny little zipper pouches so I naturally had to try to make an equally small one, and then an even smaller one of course. ;)

The day after Anki naturally had made an even smaller little pouch, which resulted in me having to make my smallest one to date ^^ It's so adorably small it only just fits my two earplugs for when I fly. The little clip is so I can attach it to the zipper pull on my big bag so I can find it when I need it. =)

The reason I came to think of these now was because when I met her in Sweden recently, she had made an even smaller one! It was just too cute and I think I have to admit defeat! ^^

I had so much fun making this table runner, I actually literally dreamed of it, when I woke up I was so excited and I had to sketch it right away. I'll make a post about one of my weird ways of getting new designs another day =)

Isn't it just gorgeous there on the door? <3 I took a ton of photos trying to get the perfect one for the cover of the pattern. This was actually my runner up.

I love the touch of added depth and flair the addition of the subtle lines give it. 

Isn't it just so pretty matching the color of the sky and the leaves at the same time? Had such a hard time getting it to stay in place, it was quite windy ^^

Anyway, I really love it and I hope you will too! I think it looks so great in it's location at home =)

Borlänge Sycentrum, going strong on their third week!

Totally forgot to post this post in the middle of everything going on, so sorry to have kept you in suspense ;)

My parents store and sewing machine repair shop has been open since the 1st of October and it's just the best little store (no! I'm not biased ^^)! <3

More fabric is constantly coming in so soon there'll be many more shelves! And now there are jacket and trouser zippers filling the empty place in my photo.

The little store window with the sewing machines in the background. They got so many beautiful flower arrangements when they opened their doors, it was so much fun!

My little Bring the Basics Bag is currently on a visit there to help promote the pattern, and while I miss it, it's nice to know it's out "working" =)

It has been such an insanely cool feeling to see my first pattern in print! And I'm also so glad it's been selling! Thanks a lot to everyone who's purchased it! <3

I had way to much fun folding Fat Quarters into different shapes that week =)

I really wish them best of luck in this endeavour,  I'm so glad I got to be there at the start and I'm sure this will be a success! =D

I Love Pusheen! A Pusheen Pouch =)

Pusheen, the adorable, fat little cat who's captured so many hearts all over internet, is a favourite of mine. So when I saw the Spoonflower fabric with her on it, I naturally just HAD to have it, you know the feeling right? ;)

I used the oppertunity to try out Spoonflowers Faux Suede and ordered a test swatch. This was however left in the fabric drawer for some time (well over a year), but then recently I finally dug it out and turned it into this in my eyes adorable little zipper baggie. =) It's not very big, but it's fully lined. And I just love how well the zipper pull I decided on matched her coat <3

Unfortunately when I tried to find the fabric for this post now I couldn't find it, so I'm afraid it's no longer available for purchase.
