A new look and a new bag!! Singapore Sling Bag pattern is in the works!

I wish I had the right words to tell you how much I love my newest design - the Singapore Sling Bag!! But maybe I should just settle for the fact that I almost slept with it in the bed the first night! This is also what I'm quilting in the previous post.

This design is so much me it's insane! Perfect small size, super fancy looking, perfect over the shoulder or as a little bag over your arm as I prefer to carry mine. It's soo much fun to make and it looks great quilted! This one is made in vinyl and cotton, the gorgeous print is called Terra Viva by @studio_e_fabrics. It has a new style of zipper pocket that I will tell you more about later so the interior will have to wait a little!

This beauty is with my amazing pattern testers right now so on the 1st of March it will be available to the public! It's Fat Quarter friendly, you only need 3.

It's also been long overdue to update my header and freshen up the feel of the blog, I'm ashamed at how long it's been. But with blogger refusing to use full quality pictures for this (the need to have a 900px image in a much larger space annoys me!) but now I finally have a bright new look. And if you look closer, you'll get the first sneak peek at my newest design in the pattern version, the Singapore Sling Bag - Tula Pink Zuma version! ;)

The Bring the Basics Bag just had to remain as it was my very first pattern for Pink Pony Design and it's my most sold pattern to date, and I had to include the Reno Rounded Makeup Bag as it's one of my runner up most sold patterns. And the latest Singapore Sling Bag just had to be there to show it off - as I love it so much it's ridiculous!

Bring the Basics Bag!

I'm very excited to introduce the very first pattern of my new line! The Bring the Basics Bag is just that, a small shoulder bag, clutch or wristlet, that will hold just the stuff you need to be able to leave the house. It has two cellphone pockets (holds up to 2 cellphones, 6" long), card slots, money slot and a zipper pocket for coins and keys.

It's a very handy design, and it's quick and really fun to make. It came to be as really all my bags where to heavy and warm to lug around in +40 C temperatures here in Malta. The pattern has 28 color photos, one for each step - so it's really more of a tutorial then a pattern - which will make it easy to follow even for a bag making novice with just basic sewing skills!

It is available for purchase on Craftsy here, or if you'd prefer the pattern in Swedish, you can purchase the Swedish PDF pattern from my mothers webshop here. If you are a store owner and wish to purchase the paper version of this pattern for wholesale, please drop me an email. =)

As you can see you have two separate pockets for phones, one on each side of the zipper pocket. The zippered pocket is of course fully lined.

Three separate card slots and a separate bill pocket.

I hope you will love this pattern as much as I do! I've made several versions already, and I had so much fun making them. =) And a special shoutout goes out to my friend Sulan for her invaluable input during the creation of the final version of this pattern <3

If you make a Bring the Basics Bag, please hashtag your Instagram photos with #bringthebasicsbag and #pinkponydesign so I and everyone else get to see them! =D

New header

While waiting for stuff to upload when working or just grabbing a 5 minute break for sanity (such as my little fabric therapy session the other day) I realized that my blog really needed the little face lift I've been trying give it for some time. While I loved my banner with Edward on it, I felt that I could finally move on and change it now without feeling like I was doing something bad - it was a major step for me. =)

So I started fiddling about during my mini breaks and looking around for blog designs I liked, and I ended up on a bunch of digital scrap booking pages. While many of them where lovely, though maybe a touch to busy for me, they had lots of interesting ideas and elements I really liked. I found lot's of lovely free stuff one could use and ended up with what you see now after many mini breaks.  It's mostly basic Photoshop shapes and a few scrapbboking embellishments.

And while I was at it, I also made a little post divider. I'd love to hear what you think about my new style! =)

I also have to show you this little adorable fellow who accidentally ended up in my sink the other day. He was hiding in a pot which I took inside to water (since I'd forgotten all about my poor plants in the last week of work) and as I turn on the tap - up shoots this little guy! Luckily Andreas caught him quickly and I snapped a few quick photos before we let him back out on the balcony in a separate, dry pot =)
