You have no idea how happy I am to post this! I found the photos to my Sami Bracelet Tutorial that were lost when bloger converted their photo storage a few years ago. However, as I found an old harddrive, this and much more I thought lost was found again and I can once again present my:

These bracelets are so much fun to make, and you can vary them endlessly! Let me show you a few of the bracelets I've made over the years. This is the Katarina Bracelet, a simple bracelet with no backing, and if you wish to make this exact bracelet, the tutorial can be found here.

This is a macramé version, and if you wish to make one of these, I have a tutorial for it here

Here we have the Katarina bracelet braid with additional 2 single strand versions of a four strand braid on the sides.

Here's a simple three strand braid made to look very exclusive by twisting strands of tin thread around each other  and placing flat strands of tin thread around. Then it's finished with twirled strands of tin thread on each side. makes for a very exclusive looking bracelet - that's super easy to make!

Sami bracelets are absolutely not just for women! This I made for my father, it's a massive five strand braid with hand twirled leather thongs edging it, and finished off with three strand braids which I have "folded" over instead of softly bent them around each other.

This I made for a very dear friend, it's a simple three strand braid with inlays of pearl silk in between the tin strands. It made for a beautiful contrast towards the softest, most lovely cerise lamb skinn.

Little details like adding a slim satin band (this is actually the kind that are used for keeping clothes on the hangers in stores) between two simple three strand braids for a little pop of color makes a world of difference! The closure was also spiced up here with a little bow and using the satin band for closure.

Here I used a sheer pink ribbon as the middle for a katarina braid, it gave such a cute effect I think. Instead of the antler button I used a heart shaped pearl.

This I made for a friends birthday gift, it's a tie on, ruffle bracelet with a four strand braid. It's made with off white reindeer leather as she's from the very north of Sweden, so it seemed very appropriate. I think it's super chique!

These two is one single strand katarina braid and the one on the white leather is a simple three strand braid. Isn't it so cool how you can vary these simple braiding techniques endlessly?

I have so many more to share with you as I have mad so many of these over the years, but I'll be another day =)  I hope you'll try making your own sami bracelets! It's so much fun!

My Mom Visited!!

My mother and step dad (feels so wrong to call him that, he's awesome!) Hasse visited us for week a short while back and not only did we have a lovely time (despite a rather intense sand storm for a few days) but she also taught me how to crochet! I had no idea how fun and relaxing this activity was (relaxing after I'd learned not to grip the needle like my life depended on it, I bent it a couple of times actually ^^ ).

We made flowers!! Lot's and lots of flowers! Mom made the hearts for me and a few of the flowers but I did make quite a few of them myself =)

My first flower to the left and to the right of it, my most advanced one so far ^^

Mom also brought a fantastic gift! A Gutermann thread set, which is pretty much the dream to own! =D
Behind each of the threads is the color number, so you don't even have to save the old spools, you can just look at the number to replace a color or buy more, super handy!

Today's confession: Sometimes I open it just to stroke the pretty colors for a while, really makes me happy and calm =) Thank you mom and I miss you already! <3

I won!! (but Don't Look Now ^^)

One of my biggest sources of inspiration has been away from blogging for  months to my great sadness, however, she just came back with a bang! Kellie over at Don't Look Now is finally back and blogging, and can you believe my chock and happy surprise when it turns out I had won a giveaway over there! Three patterns called "From The Heart" in which the pillow below is included! How lucky is it that I just bought 4 pillow inserts and is planning to make new pillows for the couch!

She's the reason me and Tova made sock the monkey and kitty, she's my inspiration in so many ways from everything from my love of appliques to color love.

This is one of my favorite quilts/patterns of hers (but to be honest, pretty much everything she makes is a new favorite  so yes, this is her most recent quilt ^^), it's called Animal Alphabet and one day I have vowed to make one.

And while she makes so many cute, adorable, dainty patterns, she also makes the coolest "boy" quilts, just look at this "Little Monsters" quilt, isn't it the coolest?

You have to hop over to her blog and take a look, I promise you won't regret it! =) All the photos above belong to her and are graciously borrowed from there with Kellies permission, thank you! <3

On another note, I've also been making bows! I found a lovely website called The Ribbon Retreat dedicated entirely to ribbons and bows and I was so inspired I just had to try my hand at this craft! The result was one big bow for me using up one of my pretty heart shaped buttons from the last post. I'm also working on a lot of stuff I can't reveal yet so for now, we'll have to settle for bows ^^

And the tiny baby bow is one with velcro closure for baby Alessandra. I think I'll have to make a black one too to match the adorable little shoes/socks I bought for her in Sweden...
