And the Winners are...

Thanks to all who entered the giveaway!
This has been so much fun! But I'm very sorry I haven't been able to reply to each comment with an email like I usually, do but there was just too many of you and I've had too little time this close to Christmas. <3

The comments lead to quite a bit of research on my part trying to learn about a few new notions and it will absolutely result in som shopping, I just have to try a few of these things! Like the Bloc Loc ruler, how awesome doesn't that look? Had no idea it existed!

I had quite a good laugh at the fact that the by far most common notion was the seam ripper, all of ours trusty friend when in need =D

The winner of the gorgeous Bali Pop is Kim

I love my 2 x 6 ruler. I use it to make sure my seam allowance is accurate and for placement on other sewing projects.

And the 2 random winners of the 2 Bring the Basics Bag patterns are:

My rotary cutter is my favorite gadget. Next to that would be pins. I might only use a few, but pinning helps me keep things straight :-)

Then I just had to add 2 more winners of the Bring the Basics Bag pattern, as they both posted so many good notions and tips in their comments, thank you both!

I found your blog about a month ago and went thru ALL the posts to the end! I love your new little purse pattern too. CANT LIVE WITHOUT MY GLUE. Yup, I'm a glued. Mostly use glue sticks, but there are some occasions where liquid glue is a better choice...so that is an item I cannot live without. As for new tools, for FMQ, why pay the outrageous price for a Supreme Slider when you can get HUGE Teflon sheets for a few dollars? I have two machines sunk into a table made from a sheet of plywood and I have covered the whole table with Teflon...total cost of the Teflon? $22...yeah, take that SS! And for ruler work...expensive rulers? I think not! I cut my own from foam board...cheap cheap cheap! And I also have a few cut from Lexan so I can use the lines. And for my bags, I just cannot live without rivets and studs. They add soooo much to bags. As for regular purchased tools, besides the basics of course, I'd have to recommend titanium needles. They really do last longer and stitch better in my opinion. Hope you like some of these thoughts.

Hmm... sewing notions I can't live without... I LOVE my hand-turned wooden seam ripper and stiletto I purchased on Etsy. The stiletto is pretty much a part of my hand when I sew, and the seam ripper is incredibly sharp... so much so that I have to be extra careful with it. (I posted about them here http://hoopsandthimbles.com/another-seam-ripper-my-magic-wand/ & http://hoopsandthimbles.com/i/)
My Karen Kay Buckley Perfect Scissors are also gush worthy Especially the curved pair, which are SUPER sharp and perfect for debulking seams when sewing with thick interfacings. I have all four sizes of the scissors! The medium size git my hand great, and are my go-to pair when I don't need the length of the large size. (They're 40% off on Massdrop right now btw; if you want to use my referral link... https://www.massdrop.com/r/RXSVMZ)
Best Press is definitely something I can't live without... hmm, what else... Oh! Tulip's Size 10 Milliners/Straw needles are THE BEST for binding quilts. They glide through the fabric like butter, and I swear I bind faster since finding them. I don't even use a thimble with them most of the time because they go through the fabric so easily I don't really have to protect my finger when pushing.
And for EPP on the go, Clover's Petite Cut threader/cutter combo is awesome for tiny sewing kits.

I hope all of you will enjoy your winnings! Congratulations! =D Emails are going out right now!

Bring the Basics Bag!

I'm very excited to introduce the very first pattern of my new line! The Bring the Basics Bag is just that, a small shoulder bag, clutch or wristlet, that will hold just the stuff you need to be able to leave the house. It has two cellphone pockets (holds up to 2 cellphones, 6" long), card slots, money slot and a zipper pocket for coins and keys.

It's a very handy design, and it's quick and really fun to make. It came to be as really all my bags where to heavy and warm to lug around in +40 C temperatures here in Malta. The pattern has 28 color photos, one for each step - so it's really more of a tutorial then a pattern - which will make it easy to follow even for a bag making novice with just basic sewing skills!

It is available for purchase on Craftsy here, or if you'd prefer the pattern in Swedish, you can purchase the Swedish PDF pattern from my mothers webshop here. If you are a store owner and wish to purchase the paper version of this pattern for wholesale, please drop me an email. =)

As you can see you have two separate pockets for phones, one on each side of the zipper pocket. The zippered pocket is of course fully lined.

Three separate card slots and a separate bill pocket.

I hope you will love this pattern as much as I do! I've made several versions already, and I had so much fun making them. =) And a special shoutout goes out to my friend Sulan for her invaluable input during the creation of the final version of this pattern <3

If you make a Bring the Basics Bag, please hashtag your Instagram photos with #bringthebasicsbag and #pinkponydesign so I and everyone else get to see them! =D

My mother has opened a brand new Swedish quilting store!

I'm so immensely proud of and excited for my mother who has the blog evas syrum. She has just opened her online quilt fabric store in Sweden. I know that most of my readers aren't Swedish but I just had to share this anyway, I'm so happy for her! =D

She's also hosting a giveaway with a chance to win 2 Moda Scrap Bags! These seem to be such an awesome thing, I really can't wait to get my hands on my first!

Please feel free to hop over for a chance to win (you can use the translation gadget if you don't speak Swedish)! I literally couldn't be more excited for my awesome mom! <3

She prices all her fabric the same, it's 155 SEK per meter, other then the Kona Solids that are 115 SEK per meter so it's really easy to shop there. She also has some really cute little FQ bundles and some other pre-cuts. You can order as little as 10 centimeters of a fabric should you wish.  =)

Giveaway! Win the My Memories Suite software!

I'm super happy to be hosting my very first giveaway thanks to the lovely people over at My Memories!

Those of you who know me know I need a new hobby like I need a hole in the head but like you also know, I dabbled a little in digital scrapbooking a while back to make my new header and it was so much fun! But a bit of a hassle doing it in Photoshop... So when I was contacted by My Memories I just jumped at the chance at trying their digital scrapbooking software and also getting the chance to let one of you dear readers, have a chance of winning your very own full version of the My Memories Suite!

After having played a round with it for a little while now I can tell you, there's much fun you can do with this software, especially when it comes to fun gifts. And don't' only think printing  as that's what put me off at first, I'm not the paper photo kind of gal - think digital photo frames! Just save your album as .jpg images and you can make super fun gifts by simply buying a digital picture frame (if the recipient doesn't have one) and a cheap memory card that suits the frame with your album pages in .jpg format and you have a super fun gift (tutorial for this and a ton of other things are available on their webpage)! It's quite easy and logical to use, which is a big bonus if you like me have very limited time and don't want to spend it reading manuals.

If you're a blogger, there's a ton of fun things you can create, like fancy new blog headers:

Or just give your photos adorable frames and designs, like this one of my finances adorable niece Matilda (Or "Tilla" to use her own pronunciation) from when they where visiting us earlier last month, she'd eaten ice cream and was happily playing in the park:

And when we're on the topic of visit from the family, I just have to show you (despite how terrible I look in the photo, had been more or less ill for a month) my favourite part of the day with the kids, and it's when I get to curl up with them all in bed, one in my lap (or at times all three, but it gets a little difficult to read then) and the rest around me reading a storybook. I have such lovely memories of my mother doing that for me and my sister when we where young and storybook time was the best time of the day back then.

Anyhow, there's a lot of fun stuff you can do with this software.  All of the above is done with what comes included with the My Memories Suite, however,  they have a number of free kits for download and unlimited ones you can buy to increace the possibilities. Ok, so yes - I do realize I sound super silly in all the above commentary but it really is fun to play with this and I'm excited about the opportunity to share it with your all. =)

HOW TO WIN
Finally, we're at the good part! =D

You can do any of the below to get one or more chances to win, please make one comment for each of your entries and make sure you're not a a no reply blogger (hop over to Sew Many Ways  if you're unsure if you are) or include your email if you're a no-reply blogger so I have a way to contact you if you win, otherwise, I'll draw a new name. The giveaway closes in one weeks time so on the 10th of December, the winner will be announced! =)

1. Comment on this post and tell me what you would want to try and make first with the My Memories Suite.
2. Become a follower of my blog, or if you already are, just state that you're a follower.
3. Blog about the giveaway and comment with a link to your post.
4. Twitter/Facebook about the giveaway comment with a link to your post

And to make sure no one feels left out, My Memories are giving all of you readers a $10 discount off the purchase of the My Memories Suite Scrapbook software for those of you who don't win and a $10 coupon for the MyMemories.com store after purchasing the software - $20 value!
