Keep Your Sunglasses Safe - Raccoon Case! Free Pattern!

I've been wanting to make this pattern for a while, I wanted a soft case for my sunglasses that was easy to open all the way, so they where quick to get out when I needed them and easy to put back. This seemed like the best design for it =)

The reason I wanted a soft case was because I don't want it to take up a lot of room in my bag when not in use. And the Raccoon Case was born!

It's a limited time free pattern, so get it now =) This pattern is available for free download in the "files" section of my Facebook group.

The exterior fabric is from Tula Pinks lovely Acacia line, and the case got its name from the adorable Raccoon print =)

It opens up all the way.

And it's ever so handy! I just love it!

I hope you will enjoy this simple and quick to make little case as much as I do, it's a perfect, quickly whipped up gift =)

If you make a Raccoon Case, please hashtag your Instagram photos with #raccooncase and #pinkponydesign so I and everyone else get to see them! =D

A Small Competition Resulting in Tiny Bags

These little bags came to be in a very inofficial, good natured competition betweeen me and my very good friend Anki at quilt camp this summer. She had made a set of teeny tiny little zipper pouches so I naturally had to try to make an equally small one, and then an even smaller one of course. ;)

The day after Anki naturally had made an even smaller little pouch, which resulted in me having to make my smallest one to date ^^ It's so adorably small it only just fits my two earplugs for when I fly. The little clip is so I can attach it to the zipper pull on my big bag so I can find it when I need it. =)

The reason I came to think of these now was because when I met her in Sweden recently, she had made an even smaller one! It was just too cute and I think I have to admit defeat! ^^

Circles of Time Table Runner - A New Pattern!

I'm very excited to introduce my second Pink Pony Design pattern, the Circles of Time Tablerunner!

It is available for purchase on Craftsy here, or if you'd prefer the pattern in Swedish, you can purchase the Swedish PDF pattern from my mothers web shop here. If you are a store owner and wish to purchase the paper version of this pattern for wholesale, please drop me an email: maria@pinkponydesign.com =)

I had so much fun making this table runner, I actually literally dreamed of it, when I woke up I was so excited and I had to sketch it right away. I'll make a post about one of my weird ways of getting new designs another day =)

Isn't it just gorgeous there on the door? <3 I took a ton of photos trying to get the perfect one for the cover of the pattern. This was actually my runner up.

I love the touch of added depth and flair the addition of the subtle lines give it.

Isn't it just so pretty matching the color of the sky and the leaves at the same time? Had such a hard time getting it to stay in place, it was quite windy ^^

Anyway, I really love it and I hope you will too! I think it looks so great in it's location at home =)

If you make a Circles of Time Table Runner, please hashtag your Instagram photos with #circlesoftimetablerunner and #pinkponydesign so I and everyone else get to see them! =D

Borlänge Sycentrum, going strong on their third week!

Totally forgot to post this post in the middle of everything going on, so sorry to have kept you in suspense ;)

My parents store and sewing machine repair shop has been open since the 1st of October and it's just the best little store (no! I'm not biased ^^)! <3

More fabric is constantly coming in so soon there'll be many more shelves! And now there are jacket and trouser zippers filling the empty place in my photo.

The little store window with the sewing machines in the background. They got so many beautiful flower arrangements when they opened their doors, it was so much fun!

My little Bring the Basics Bag is currently on a visit there to help promote the pattern, and while I miss it, it's nice to know it's out "working" =)

It has been such an insanely cool feeling to see my first pattern in print! And I'm also so glad it's been selling! Thanks a lot to everyone who's purchased it! <3

I had way to much fun folding Fat Quarters into different shapes that week =)

I really wish them best of luck in this endeavour,  I'm so glad I got to be there at the start and I'm sure this will be a success! =D

I Love Pusheen! A Pusheen Pouch =)

Pusheen, the adorable, fat little cat who's captured so many hearts all over internet, is a favourite of mine. So when I saw the Spoonflower fabric with her on it, I naturally just HAD to have it, you know the feeling right? ;)

I used the oppertunity to try out Spoonflowers Faux Suede and ordered a test swatch. This was however left in the fabric drawer for some time (well over a year), but then recently I finally dug it out and turned it into this in my eyes adorable little zipper baggie. =) It's not very big, but it's fully lined. And I just love how well the zipper pull I decided on matched her coat <3

Unfortunately when I tried to find the fabric for this post now I couldn't find it, so I'm afraid it's no longer available for purchase.

The Flamingo Quilt

My love absolutely loves Flamingos, and therefor of course he had to have his own Flamingo Quilt! So before his birthday this summer I went to quilt camp and I made him my to date by far most difficult quilt! I even had to bring in my mother for help with the satin stitch for the applique! Thank you mom! <3

(for some reason all images are very badly compressed by blogger, please click them to see the proper photo)

But it was totally worth it, he was so happy when he got it! =D He turned 36, so it was exactly 36 different hues of pink and red used. I started out by making and taking my 5" squares and adding vliesofix to them.

I then drew out the bird on the fabric and started placing my cut triangles, let me tell you, fitting and placing these triangles took me 6 days of work from sunup to sundown at quilt camp! And sun doesn't set in these parts of Sweden until 23 at night. ^^

I kept adding and adding triangles until I dreamed of them =) I used wash away glue to hold them in place while I was trying out colors, before ironing down the vliesofix. I had no idea getting the triangles to fit perfectly would be so time consuming, if I had, I might have rethought the idea as I only had 2 weeks to finish this baby.

Here she's really starting to take shape =)

Had to redesign my original sketch for her face as the triangles just got too small!

The disaster struck! The darn iron decided to shoot out a gush of rust coloured goo all over her feet! I cried a little and then I washed and washed and manage to get most of it out. Here's the drying photo but you can still see the stains! However, luckily a little change of pose for her leg solved the issue and the stains where hidden away.

I freemotion quilted it all on my mothers machine, calm waves for the water and clouds for the sky, came out really nice once we'd sorted out the issues with the FMQ foot and settings on the machine.

It's such a pretty quilt and I'm so proud of it! I even hand stitched the binding (which we all know in my eyes is just a killer), that's how much I love him and the quilt ;)

The back is of course also Flamingos =)

Happy recipient! =)

Her pretty head finished.

There are even little circles around her foot where she's standing =)

Bring the Basics Bag!

I'm very excited to introduce the very first pattern of my new line! The Bring the Basics Bag is just that, a small shoulder bag, clutch or wristlet, that will hold just the stuff you need to be able to leave the house. It has two cellphone pockets (holds up to 2 cellphones, 6" long), card slots, money slot and a zipper pocket for coins and keys.

It's a very handy design, and it's quick and really fun to make. It came to be as really all my bags where to heavy and warm to lug around in +40 C temperatures here in Malta. The pattern has 28 color photos, one for each step - so it's really more of a tutorial then a pattern - which will make it easy to follow even for a bag making novice with just basic sewing skills!

It is available for purchase on Craftsy here, or if you'd prefer the pattern in Swedish, you can purchase the Swedish PDF pattern from my mothers webshop here. If you are a store owner and wish to purchase the paper version of this pattern for wholesale, please drop me an email. =)

As you can see you have two separate pockets for phones, one on each side of the zipper pocket. The zippered pocket is of course fully lined.

Three separate card slots and a separate bill pocket.

I hope you will love this pattern as much as I do! I've made several versions already, and I had so much fun making them. =) And a special shoutout goes out to my friend Sulan for her invaluable input during the creation of the final version of this pattern <3

If you make a Bring the Basics Bag, please hashtag your Instagram photos with #bringthebasicsbag and #pinkponydesign so I and everyone else get to see them! =D

Introducing: Pink Pony Design!

I'm very proud and happy to introduce to you all today, the new me: PINK PONY DESIGN!

Time for a change and an exciting update! This is the start of my very own line of real patterns! I've with this also decided to update my "brand" name a little to represent me more, and to be a little more easily recognisable. I'm changing name from Not Only Quilts to Pink Pony Design.

Those of you who know me, or have followed me for a while, know how much I love designing bags and quilts and other things, and I'd love to do it for a living. This is a major, exciting step in that direction! I've made a number of free patterns in the past, and I will of course continue doing free patterns and tutorials. I will however also be releasing high quality patterns for purchase!

I've had precious little time for sewing the past few years due to my work. However, my work situation has changed and I'm left with a bit more free time and I'm therefor able to pursue this dream of mine =)

My new patterns will be released in Swedish and English and available as both PDF versions and paper patterns.

Follow the new me on Instagram!
