Bonn Backpack - PDF Pattern Release!

I'm so happy to be able to release my latest design, the Bonn Backpack PDF sewing pattern is such a fun and easy sew! I've been asked for a simple to sew, no curves/no gusset backpack for a long time, and now it really felt like the right time for it! It fits my 13" MacBook and A4 notebooks without issues.

With it's rectangular, straightforward modern design it's a big hit with anyone depending on your fabric choices! Perfect for adults for work or kids for school!

It's available in English in Swedish with inch and centimeter measurements HERE!

It's such a fun sew! Seriously addicting! This one is made with beautiful flowery canvas from The Styled Magnolia and the gorgeous pearly pink vinyl is from Borlange Sycentrum.

The Bonn Backpack is named after the birthplace of the one and only Ludwig van Beethoven. Bonn is a lovely city in Germany. I thought it a suitable name for this backpack, as it would have been the perfect bag for my piano books back in the day when I took lessons.

The Bonn Backpack is fully lined, has a beautifully faced zipper lining pocket and of course slip pockets.

This next version is made with Tula Pinks beautiful Painted Roses print from her Curiouser and Curiouser collection. Paired with a white vinyl from Borlange Sycentrum.

Much care has been taken to the placement of the straps and bag to ensure it lays flat and comfortable towards one's back when wearing.

It's lined with Tula Pink's "Stone Cold Critters" from her Spirit Animal collection in the "lunar glow" color.

You can see a short a video presentation of the Bonn on my here on my YouTube channel.

Sofia Sling Bag - Pattern Release!

I'm super excited to be able to share with you my latest bag design, the Sofia Sling Bag! This bag is actually is from a dream I had, and I had to get out of bed at 4:am to sketch the bag so I wouldn't forget it in the morning. It turned out even better than in my dream if I may say so myself.

This pattern comes with both inch and centimeter measurements, is available in both English and Swedish here in my store.

The Sofia Sling Bag is named after a very dear friend, Sofia of Tråkärlek. She's not only a wonderful person, an amazing inspiration as a bagineer (I still love that word!) but also one of those people that makes you a better person by just being around her. I'm so glad she shares name with the Bulgarian capital so I could name this bag after her and a city, following my naming convention ;)  If you want to be inspired by her makes too, see below her beautiful tester bags and see my previous post here to see her epic collection of Bergen Bags.

This bag is truly such a fun make, this version is made with cotton fabric from Blended Thread, a print called " Dreamy Floral". And their cotton fabric is a DREAM to work with, such amazing quality. The pearlescent pink vinyl is from Borlange Sycentrum. All the gorgeous gunmetal hardware is from Emmalinebags

The interior has a simple lining zipper pocket that we also turn the bag through.

As well as open slip pockets.

My amazing pattern testers were awesome as ever and tested the pattern for me, and they have truly outdone themselves this time! WOW! A sincere thank you goes out to each and everyone one of you for helping me make each new pattern -  into my best pattern yet!

I'm so very grateful for all your help and hard work, I could not do this without you!

Sofia Nilsson - after whom this bag is named, of TRÅkärlek whom can be found here on Instagram and here on Facebook, made no less than SIX gorgeous versions!

This stunning version is made in a jersey, stabilized like described in the pattern when working with woven cotton fabric with Vilene G700 before adding the foam. Love the addition of the band to the front and the decor woven bands to the side straps.

This beauty is made in a cotton woven with vinyl accents. Look at the appliqué hearts in the flap! The following three bags she's let the front of the bag be solid without the seam for another great look. It's really simple to do if you wish to replicate the look, just cut the exterior as one whole piece, 25 x13" big, and measure the corner cut outs from the exterior short sides.

This beautiful black and gold version is made with tencel fabric with a vinyl accent. So in love with the applique heart in the pocket, and the heart lock!

This lovely navy blue version is made with two different vinyls. The woven look one matched perfectly with the smooth.

This stunning Burberryesque version just took my breath away!

This stylish sporty version has her ice dancing clubs logo embroidered on the flap, and the side straps are cleverly embellished with reflective woven bands for night time safety.

J Spears Design - Whom can be found here on instagram, made a stunning woven version accented by a vinyl strap, photographed by Sara Hayman.

Liselotte - Made this lovely marine blue version, I love how she added the "piping" look to the straps, such a cool addition.

Doris Lövgren - whom can be found here on Instagram made this gorgeous horsey version! Right up my alley!

Anne-Le Wängelin - whom can be found here on Instagram made two beautiful bags! This stunner is cotton fabric with a vinyl accent. Lovely!

This awesome halloweeny one is also cotton fabric with a black vinyl accent. So cool!

Ann Munthe Svensson - Made this lovely black and white cotton version with vinyl straps.

Pia Jestin - whom can be found here on Instagram made no less than two stunning versions!

And this stunning geopard version is just so awesome!

Margareth Tai - Bags by Mags can be found here on Instagram, made this beautiful all woven version, loving the charm addition!

Barbara Dörig - Whom can be found here on instagram made this lovely all woven version. Makes me think of spring!

Kristin - whom can be found here on Instagram made this just beautiful version in a woven exterior matched with vinyl straps.

Hemasis - Who's website is available here made this lovely jean print and white vinyl version. Love the little charm addition at the front.

Bergen Bag Parade - By Sofia of TråKärlek

I have an absolutely fantastic friend I'd like to introduce you all to: Her name is Trå Sofia of TråKärlek and she is an inspiration to me like no other! I wish I had but 1/10 of her energy and focus! She's nowadays one of my pattern testers and I couldn't be more grateful for the job she does, the thorough testing she gives my designs is invaluable. And all the beautiful bags she makes!

Seriously, it's absolutely amazing! She doesn't sew to sell like one would think when one sees her production, she sews for herself, and as gifts for friends and family. Let me share with you some of her absolutely amazing, beautiful Bergen Bags.

The Bergen Bag pattern is available in English and Swedish, and comes with both inch and centimeter measurements.

This unicorn Bergen Bag is one of my all time favorites, it's just soo beautiful! And look at the details, like the super cute hearts in the lining! She has also made it slightly higher than the the original pattern calls for and it gives a lovely look and more room!

This beauty is standard size. The cotton or woven fabrics and panels are from a lot of different places, but all vinyls for in these bags comes from my parents store Borlange Sycentrum

These three she made for her ice dancing teacher colleagues, aren't they adorable!? They are also slightly higher than the original pattern to allow the pretty panel to fit.

These two gorgeous versions are made in a fabric that's very traditional for the area of Sweden both me and Sofia is from, Dalarna. So are the lovely woven bands she has incorporated in the lining of these bags - making them extra special to me.

Love how the woven band returns in the lining of the zipper pocket! Such a beautiful detail!

Up next is this romantic flowery stunner!

And as a little break in the romantic and soft colors we have this rocking blue and orange one!

This pink stunner is right up my alley!

Love the extra slip pockets she's added outside the zipper pocket!

Another of my absolute favourites, Bleeding Heart, or Löjtnatshjärta as it's called in Swedish is a flower my mother grew outside our first home when I was a child, it'll always have a special place in my heart. As will this gorgeous Bergen Bag

Ohh this pink one is just so insanely pretty! This one has also been given a few extra inches on the height to be able to fit more things.

This zipper choice is just sooo epic!

This green and pink one is just to die for I think! Seriously so stunning!

This woven vinyl black beauty is just so darn cool!

This green, furniture fabric one is just so stylish!

And last but not least, this drop dead gorgeous white and gold heart one! Sooooo pretty! Love it soo much!

The hearts continue all the way in! Such a happy, loving lining!

But she doesn't just sew bags, when I met her a couple of years ago she'd never sewn a bag in her life!
She sewed clothes for herself and her family of course, but she also sews clothing for premature babies that she gifts to neonatal units around Sweden. So that when people are ready to bring their early arrival little miracle home, there's an adorable set of clothing available for them in a size that fits their baby - to bring the little one home in. I can't imagine how much this must mean to these parents. A small sample of her adorable, teeny tiny works below.

Stay awesome Sofia and thank you for everything!
