Hello Maria I am new to blogging so please bear with me. I have been reading your tutorials on making bracelets and love them. I am about to order some supplies from the site you listed and have a few questions. Firstly it sounds like you generally use .4mm tin wire for most projects. Is that right? Secondly, when you include a leather cord in your braid what size/diameter do you usually use? Thirdly would you by any chance have the braid pattern for a style called "telemark" that I saw on the swedish sami bracelet site? I saw that the supply shop has a pattern book but it's in Swedish. Are you by any chance able to publish some more complex braid patterns? Anyway, thanks for your wonderful creativity. Warm regards Dohotay
Thank you for your kind words! =D I do wary my cord size according to projects but 0.4mm is my most common size I'd say yes =)
For the cord I just cut the leather to a size I think will look good for the braid, depending on how many strands of thread I be using and how wide it is. I always buy the widest leather cord they sell and cut from it =)
There's a ton of different names for each braid out there and I don't recognize the name of "telemark" so I'm afraid I can't tell you. However, if you give me a link to the page I'll be happy to take a look. =)
As you're a new blogger I through I should tell you that atm you're a "no-reply blogger" so I can't reply to you in emails to your comments. If you add an email to your blogger account I and other bloggers will be able to reply to you in emails instead of like this in the comment section to your questions, much easier =)
I really want to add more braid patterns and I'll absolutely do so when I have time, however, when that is I don't know, work is killing me atm XD
Hello Maria. Thanks for your quick reply. So I think I have now added my email so you can reply that way. So the link to the Swedart website is as follows: http://www.swedart.com/gallery.htm. They have a lovely bracelet called telemark that I would love to make. I am also wondering about bracelets like their model called "big bear" where on the edges there is a coil of twisted tin - is that made of one piece that is twisted or two pieces twisted together?" If so then I'd imagine that you would use smaller gauge wire. When you said that you use the widest cord that they make do you mean that you buy the widest leather that they sell and then cut it to the widths you want? Thank you so much for answering my questions. I'm really excited about this project! ;) Sorry about the work stress!
Jewelry is a very lovable thing and everyone like to wear it especially women. I also like to wear different kind of jewelry. I am always looking for new trends. According to me latest jewelry trend is smaller necklace and colored stone jewelry and Celtic jewelery.
Excellent info. Cheers with regard to offering us all a real useful info. Continue the good do the job along with keep on offering us all a lot more top quality info from time to time.Jewelry
I don't wear much jewelry, but I love just about every piece you posted! My favorites are the hand-stamped ring, the & necklace.. and if I were a mom, I would absolutely want the necklace with my kids' handwriting.
Thank you for sharing your instructions to make these beautiful bracelets. Unfortunately, the pictures don't show in the basic tutorial, but the instructions are still very helpful.
I absulutlly love your tutorials for the bracelets!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear that! Thank you! =D
