    I do a lot of piecing and cannot live without my 6.5 x 24.5 inch ruler - that half inch comes in so handy! I wore the markings off of my first one and recently replaced it with a better, non slip one - love it even more.

    I need my seam ripper - no doubt about it. However, I just started using fine glass head patchwork pins instead of the plastic flower head pins and WOW, what a difference it makes in keeping seams straight and not distorting fabric you're piecing!

    Thanks for a great giveaway. As for a sewing tool I couldn't live without - it would definitely be my sewing machine zipper foot. It is my second most used foot and usually not just for zippers (I like using it for machine stitching binding onto quilts).

    Seam ripper is the obvious one but the one tool I can't live with out is my new 1/4" seam guide. I don't know what I ever did without it. I rip out a lot fewer seams now that I have it.

    I found your blog about a month ago and went thru ALL the posts to the end! I love your new little purse pattern too. CANT LIVE WITHOUT MY GLUE. Yup, I'm a glued. Mostly use glue sticks, but there are some occasions where liquid glue is a better choice...so that is an item I cannot live without. As for new tools, for FMQ, why pay the outrageous price for a Supreme Slider when you can get HUGE Teflon sheets for a few dollars? I have two machines sunk into a table made from a sheet of plywood and I have covered the whole table with Teflon...total cost of the Teflon? $22...yeah, take that SS! And for ruler work...expensive rulers? I think not! I cut my own from foam board...cheap cheap cheap! And I also have a few cut from Lexan so I can use the lines. And for my bags, I just cannot live without rivets and studs. They add soooo much to bags. As for regular purchased tools, besides the basics of course, I'd have to recommend titanium needles. They really do last longer and stitch better in my opinion. Hope you like some of these thoughts.

    Can I answer "my sewing machine"???? Ha ha ha ha... I really like my little bitty snips, I have no idea if they have a name, but I like that they're small and lightweight and I'm more apt to use them for cleaning up threads than my regular sewing scissors.

    My bamboo stiletto - great for guiding fabric in the sewing machine - and removing stitches in case my machine goes crazy. Also good for hand sewing - I'm kind of lost without it. thanks.

    Hmm... sewing notions I can't live without... I LOVE my hand-turned wooden seam ripper and stiletto I purchased on Etsy. The stiletto is pretty much a part of my hand when I sew, and the seam ripper is incredibly sharp... so much so that I have to be extra careful with it.     My Karen Kay Buckley Perfect Scissors are also gush worthy Especially the curved pair, which are SUPER sharp and perfect for debulking seams when sewing with thick interfacings. I have all four sizes of the scissors! The medium size git my hand great, and are my go-to pair when I don't need the length of the large size.     Best Press is definitely something I can't live without... hmm, what else... Oh! Tulip's Size 10 Milliners/Straw needles are THE BEST for binding quilts. They glide through the fabric like butter, and I swear I bind faster since finding them. I don't even use a thimble with them most of the time because they go through the fabric so easily I don't really have to protect my finger when pushing.

    And for EPP on the go, Clover's Petite Cut threader/cutter combo is awesome for tiny sewing kits.

      I encho everything you say about the hand turned wooden seam rippers. It just feels so nice in the hand that it makes seam ripping pleasant. I've been wanting a stiletto and asked the guy who made mine to let me know if he ever decided to branch into those (I'd love a matching one; this one was a gift made of wood very special to the person who gifted it to me). Will have to check ETSY.

    Hi Maria! I make a lot of bags, so I love Clover mini clips. At times when I need more clipping power, I also use larger office clips. And for applique, I love Clover's mini iron. Thnks for the awesome giveaway! I love batiks!

    I'm anxious to try my add-a-quarter ruler to cut out fabric using freezer paper (or other paper) templates for my The New Hexagon QAL by Katja Marek. I can trace or copy off the hexagon patterns needed for each rosette, cut the paper templates out of the copy after marking it up, and, after adhering the templates to the fabric use the ruler to butt up against the template and give me a quarter inch seam allowance. I have other old faves, but this is my newest excitement. I'm a little behind (it started at the beginning of the year) but I've saved the downloaded instructions and just need to get my printer/copier in order. The rosettes people have shown are gorgeous.

    I love my boning chalk pencil. I do a lot of appliqué and it is handy for marking those small pieces. I also like my sandpaper board. It lets me mark without the fabric shifting around.

    I Love my little silver Gingher metal thread snips. If you wear them over your middle finger, you can hold them nicely while chain piecing. I learned that while sewing at a clothing factory. Thanks for the great giveaway. smflks at gmail dot com

    Unfortunately my most used notion is my seam ripper. Recently I have used it more than I care to mention. My FAVORITE notion is the "Purple Thang". Love all the many uses it has. I buy extras and include them in my swap packages to share with my quilty/sew friends.

    Oh there are so many...clover clips, then there's this seam presser tool that they make as well, which you use instead of your finger, sewline glue pens, and contrary some opinions, I love frixion pens as well, lol.
